Lab Access
- For ESB 347, email John Thorpe ([email protected]) for keycard access and copy Dr. Han.
- For Olin 322, email Ross Stanley ([email protected]) for keycard access and copy Dr. Han.
Undergraduate researchers will only be granted access from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Work with your supervisor for after-hours access.
Digital Acess
- You can request to become a member of our lab website. Once approved, you will be able to update your own profile under People → Click here. A profile photo is highly encouraged. Feel free to use your Owlstown profile for academic purposes, and you may also link to your personal website.
- Other pages under the Lab Hub will become accessible once you are added as a member of the lab website.
- The lab uses Slack for informal communications. Email Dr. Han for workspace access.
- Email Dr. Han to request access to the lab Box for depositing data and code repositories.
- Email Dr. Han to create Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN).
- Lab computers can be logged in using your VUnetID and password.
Safety Training
Search Learning Hub in Oracle Cloud, finish the required EHS courses, and then email your completion certificate/screenshot to Dr. Han. These courses include:
- Chemical and Physical Safety for Research Labs
- Compressed Gas Cylinder Safety
- Cleaning Up Small Chemical Spills
Refer to the Lab Safety page for details of lab-specific safety training.
PPE
- Reach out to Dr. Peifu Cheng for safety goggles and lab coat (with your preferred size).
- If prescription goggles are needed, email Dr. Han, and the lab will cover the cost.
- The lab only carries nitrile gloves (S, M, L). Reach out to Dr. Peifu Cheng for alternatives if you have a known nitrile glove allergy.
